How do I tag clients for segmentation?

Add free-form or existing tags to a client in the editor's Tags tab, then filter your client list by tag from the right rail on the Clients page.

Written by Justin Bossi

To tag a client, open the client editor, go to the Tags tab, and start typing in the Tags field. You can pick from existing tags or press Enter to create a new one on the fly.

Add a tag:

  1. Open the client's profile and click Edit.

  2. Go to the Tags tab.

  3. In the Tags field, type a tag name.

  4. Pick an existing tag from the suggestions, or press Enter to add your typed tag as a new one.

  5. Repeat for any additional tags.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Remove a tag

Each tag shows as a pill chip with an X. Click the X to remove it, then click Save Changes.

Tags are shared across your organization

Once you add a tag, it becomes part of your organization's tag pool. Everyone on your team sees it in the autocomplete suggestions when they tag other clients, so use consistent naming (e.g., stick with "VIP" rather than mixing "VIP", "V.I.P.", and "vip").

Filtering your client list by tag

Once you have tags in play, the right rail on the Clients page shows a Tags card listing every tag in your CRM. Click a tag chip to filter your list to clients with that tag. Click again to remove the filter.

Empty state

Before you have any tags, the Tags card on the client list shows "No tags yet."

Ideas for what to tag

  • Client tier or segment: VIP, Repeat, Referral source

  • Travel style: Luxury, Adventure, Family, Business

  • Life events or timing: Anniversary Q4, Milestone birthday 2027

  • Booking preferences: Cruise-only, Domestic-only, No flights

Tags are free-form, so you can invent whatever taxonomy fits how you actually work.
