How do I upload and preview a client's documents?

How to upload a document to a client's passport record, what file types are accepted, and how to preview or replace an uploaded file.

Written by Justin Bossi

To upload a document, open a passport (or visa) record in the editor, click the file input under Photo of Document, and pick a PDF or image from your computer.

Uploading a document:

  1. Open the client editor and go to the Documents tab.

  2. Click Add Passport (or Add Visa), or edit an existing record with the pencil icon.

  3. Click the Photo of Document field and pick a file.

  4. Fill in the rest of the fields and click Save.

Accepted file types

PDF and image files (PNG, JPG, etc.). Other file types are rejected.

Once uploaded

The record shows a small preview row with the file icon and filename. You can:

  • Remove it with the X button before saving

  • Replace it by removing the current file and picking a new one

Previewing a saved document

On the passport list (in the editor's Documents tab), each row has an image icon in the Image column. Click it to open the document in a new browser tab. There's no inline preview modal, so treat this like a "view or download" action.

Deleting a document

Removing the file from a passport record deletes the underlying image on save. Deleting the entire passport record also removes the attached file.

Note on general file uploads

The Documents tab today handles passport and visa images only. There isn't a general-purpose document library on the client profile for storing insurance certificates, contracts, or other files. If you need to attach those, use the Notes section as a workaround, or contact Voyagr Support to flag it.
